I would like to review the intended format for the posts and pages in this blog as it grows and more content is added. As I have said previously, this is meant to be a small archive or a storehouse of various content related to the word of God, the Bible, to help supplement further studies. Discussion is also welcome for the reason of edification on the subjects listed here, but I will say that I reserve the right to keep discussion on-topic if it veers too far from the subject. More regarding Rules of discussion may be written as needed, but broadly speaking please keep it within common sense and decency. Most of all, do not post anything illegal or obscene. Spam and so forth will be removed as necessary.
The site is divided into posts dealing with separate topics, and I have included several categories to help explain the purpose and content of each post. The post categories are currently:
1. Sources
2. Study notes
—2b. Biblical
—2c. Historical
3. Other
4. Administrative
Each post will be tagged appropriately. The first deals with documentation of ‘sources.’ In these posts, there will be one or more primary sources and I will include a note explaining where the document or the source of the information came from.
The second deals with more marginal “study notes.” In these, I make my best attempt to present a set of facts as they stand on a specific subject, with strict impartiality. I will not be making commentaries in these posts, I will be breaking down primary sources (including the Bible) into subparts that are of particular interest and comparing them with other sources and information. With these comparisons I may make remarks to the effect regarding the most interesting comparisons that I have found and the reasons why and how such facts are comparable. The conclusions are yours to draw. These are useful as a resource and I have referred to them as “study notes” because they are easy starting points for further discussion. The sub-category “Biblical study notes” signifies that the post is comprised primarily with comparing scripture with other scripture. Likewise for historical study notes.
The third deals with “other” kinds of posts. Right now, the main idea here are lengthier commentary on a given subject. I may often write one of these posts to accompany another post in one of the former categories. I may come up with further types of posts as I add more content and see the direction of this blog.
The last category, “Administrative” posts, are posts that deal with meta-categories respecting the operation of this blog. There are also going to be a number of “pages” attached to this blog that are not part of the post structure but that instead have a permanent link on the sidebar.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
